
John M. Kennedy is president, CEO and chairman of gbcBANK and Greenfield Bancshares Inc. He joined the bank in 2005 as vice president and trust officer, and was promoted to chief financial officer in 2008 and executive vice president in 2009. Kennedy was named president and CEO in 2012 and chairman in 2018. Previously he worked at the Federal Home Loan Bank of Indianapolis, as portfolio manager and administrator with NBD Trust and Investments, and as a senior trust officer with JPMorgan Chase Bank. He is active in the community as a director of the Hancock Economic Development Council and through the U.S. Naval Academy Admissions department as a Blue Gold Office. A veteran of the U.S. Navy, Kennedy served as a naval officer for four years prior to his finance career. He continued to serve in the U.S. Navy Reserve for a total of 30 years, retiring in 2010 as a captain. A chartered financial analyst, Kennedy is a graduate of Purdue University and earned an MBA from Rutgers University.
