When the legislative session begins this January, members of the 2023 Indiana General Assembly will address numerous issues affecting Indiana’s banking community. In anticipation, the Indiana Bankers Association is hosting a legislative reception in honor of the Indiana General Assembly, statewide elected officials, their staff and spouses.
The evening will serve as a prime opportunity for bankers to get to know legislators, discuss important banking issues and thank those legislators who have helped us with critical issues in the past. We believe this occasion will greatly benefit members of the General Assembly, as well as all members of the banking community.
Please join your fellow bankers in a display of thanks to Indiana’s decision-makers by attending the 2023 legislative reception.
Invite Your Legislators to the Reception and Take Them to Dinner: You are encouraged to reach out to your elected officials in advance. Let them know you plan to attend and that you would like to visit with them at the reception. If possible, invite your legislator to dinner following the reception. To make an appointment with your legislator, call the Indiana House of Representatives at 317-232-9600, or the Indiana Senate at 317-232-9400.
4:00 p.m. - 4:30 p.m. Legislative Briefing: The IBA government affairs personnel will conduct a legislative briefing promptly at 4:00 p.m. During the briefing, issues of particular importance to the banking community will be discussed. There will be time for questions and answers.
4:30 p.m.- 4:45 p.m. BANKPAC Awards
4:45 p.m. - 5:30 p.m. Indiana Week in Review, an informative and always entertaining discussion on Indiana politics with WFYI's Indiana Week in Review crew. Host Brandon Smith will cover the issues facing Indiana related to politics and policy with insightful viewpoints from panelists Mike O'Brien, Ann DeLaney, Jon Schwantes and Niki Kelly. As the program notes, you may attend for the news, but you'll stay for the no-holds-barred debate and discussion.
5:30 p.m.- 7:00 p.m. Reception with Members of the Indiana General Assembly and invited guests.
There is a registration fee of $60 per person for the Legislative Reception. There is no cost for the briefing. Cancellations received prior to Wednesday, January 25th will receive a full refund. No refund will be given after the deadline. This event is only open to IBA Members.
