Feb 22, 2023 to Feb 23, 2023
This two-day program is designed for BSA professional who are competent in the core requirements of Bank Secrecy Act rules and will provide a higher level of lecture, training and interactive discussion regarding the challenges of developing and managing an effective BSA program. Suspicious Activity Reports cover many more topics than ever before, and we will devote significant time to this subject. It is important that attendees share "war stories" from their experience with SAR filings, as well as receiving a wealth of information from the presenter. This discussion will revolve around real life BSA situations. This school will also address the updated BSA Exam Manual published in 2020 and 2021 and any up to the minute changes, including the latest pronouncements (however inadequate) regarding cryptocurrency.
The course will include lecture and round table discussions regarding BSA hot topics. Included will be the issue of marijuana related business (which are likely in your future) and their potential short- and long-term impact on your bank. A portion of the program will be managing a BSA program, including the use of technology in the detection of BSA issues. There will also be a discussion of the process of BSA software validation. Topics are listed in the agenda. In addition, the class will learn to design an effective BSA program through the study of workflow charts, which will be provided.
The course will rely heavily on a round table discussion. The facilitator will guide the group through a number of pre-determined discussion topics, as well as topics requested by the attendees. Each attendee is encouraged to contribute at least one topic they would like to discuss, and attendees will be solicited for topics prior to the school.
